Giveaway Help

This page explains how to successfully join a chat giveaway when the chat is moving too fast. You've probably seen one of these:

• "Your message was not sent because you are sending messages too quickly."
• "Your message was not sent because it is identical to the previous one you sent, less than 30 seconds ago."
• "Your message is being checked by mods and has not been sent."

Option A

• Use your computer and keep spamming the keyword.
• Keep trying until it goes through.

Option B

• Install Chatterino.
• Open the chat.
• Type your keyword, then hold Ctrl + Enter (Windows) or Cmd + Enter (Mac).

Advantage: Chatterino only shows your message in chat once it has actually been sent.

Note: I do not advise you to use this feature outside of a giveaway.

Chat Pause

Twitch adds an artificial pause to very active chats when a lot of messages are being sent at the same time. Without these pauses, chat would move too quickly to read at all.

You can actually time the chat pause: it usually lasts around 2–3 seconds. For a better chance of your giveaway message going through, try to send your message while the chat is moving — not during a pause.
